LONG DAYS IN THE DESERT

Long Days in the Desert traces the isolation and endurance of desert landscapes across the American Southwest. Long stretches of empty road, weathered structures, and stark light define this black and white fine art photography series; a meditation on solitude, time, and the slow persistence of the land, along with changes in your value system for water and shade over gold and silver. This series debuted as a solo exhibition at Framed on Fifth Gallery in Calgary, and continues to resonate with collectors drawn to minimalist landscape and architectural work.

An award winning photographer, Richard Collens is a lifelong artist and photographer, with a desire for adventure, road trips and finding the beauty in nature and in otherwise mundane surroundings.
